25th BCS written examination
Rumour of question paper leakage creates panic
Md. Kamruzzaman
2/25/2005

The question paper of the 25th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) written test was allegedly leaked out Thursday.
The allegation arose centring the written test of Mathematics and Daily Science.
According to Ramna police, one Mirza Galib made a general diary (No. 1742) with the station and deposited a duplicate copy of the question paper at 9:35 on the day.
At the end of the examination it was found that the submitted copy of the question paper and the original question paper were the same, the sources claimed.
Meanwhile, 25th BCS examination coordinator Md. Mahfuzur Rahman said that the Ramna Police informed them about the allegation at 11:00am, one hour after the start of the examination.
He said that any one of the students might have supplied the question from the examination hall just to create unrest.
He argued that if the question paper was really leaked out, the police should have informed them before the examination.
Such allegation can never be entertained after one hour of the start of the examination and it might be motivated and preplanned, he defended.
However, some examinees alleged that on February 10 last, the authorities of some exam centres had mistakenly distributed the question paper of Mathematics and Daily Science instead of General Knowledge (Bangladesh Affairs), but withdrew those promptly after the distribution.
However, one or two copies of the question papers were stolen by a number of examinees and the photocopy of those were rapidly circulated throughout the country in exchange of money ranging between Tk 5,000 and Tk 15,000, sources alleged.
