          SATKHIRA, Feb 6: Police recovered a country made pistol from a graveyard in Kanaidia village under Tala upazila of the district Thursday night. —BSS

CHUADANGA, Feb 6: A total of 90,600 families are now using latrines in all the four upazilas of the district. Of them, 65,432 families are using hygienic sanitary latrines —BSS

Abducted youth rescued

GAZIPUR, Feb 6: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have rescued an abducted youth from Jogitala village under Sadar Upzila of the district Sunday. The police said one Idris Ali of the village abducted Solaiman, (24), a domestic help of the abductor's neighbour Afsar Master, on February 1 and demanded Tk 0.40 million as ransom.—BSS

Road construction

RAJSHAHI, Feb 6: The Roads and Highways Department constructed and renovated a large number of roads in the district to improve communication network during the last four years. The department at present has been implementing 18 roads in the district at a cost of Tk 300 million —UNB

Robbers loot valuables

SYLHET, Feb 6: Armed robbers looted cash and valuables from the house of an expatriate at Khalopar in South Surma early Sunday. The police said the armed gang, numbering 10/12, entered the house of Abur Rab, an expatiate living in UK, by cutting the window grills at about 2am. —UNB
