Hanoi, Feb 7 (VNA): Volketswill Coop, a Swiss supermarket, is set to expand shrimp farming in the southernmost province of Ca Mau in Viet Nam in order to meet the increasing demand of Swiss customers, according to the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Processors (VASEP). To this end, a delegation led by the supermarket's Sales Manager G.Zurlutter has come to the province for further studies on breeding conditions. Zurlutter said that Vietnamese shrimp has become a great favourite of European customers, particularly the Swiss, due to its high quality. According to VASEP, Vietnamese shrimp exports to Volketswill Coop has considerably increased since 2001, because the shrimp sector has strictly applied the ecological shrimp farming technique to improve its product quality and ensure food safety and hygiene.
