Asia Cup qualifier
Bangladesh take on Hong Kong today
3/1/2006

Bangladesh take on Hong Kong in their group second match of the Asia Cup Qualifier at the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) in the city today(Wednesday), reports BDNEWS.
The match starts at 4:00pm. The Bangladesh Television will telecast the match live from BNS.
Though, Hong Kong Manager-cum-assistance coach Tsang Wai Shung vowed about the triumph against the hosts in Wednesday's match, Bangladesh captain Arif Khan Joy did not express his determination about victory.
"Obviously, we come here to win," said Tsang at a press conference Tuesday at the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) conference-room. The Hong Kong team arrived in Dhaka Monday.
"We will try to register a victory over Hong Kong availing the home condition," Arif Khan Joy told the press.
Both the teams suffered defeat in away matches in the group-F openers. Bangladesh lost to Uzbekistan 5-0 and Hong Kong lost to Qatar 3-0.
And, the attitudes of both teams are totally different on the eve of match. And, there are enough reasons behind of the attitude as Hong Kong are in the 117th FIFA ranking position and Bangladesh at the 143rd.
Tsang said that the result against Qatar was a disappointing one for them and they are still confident of moving into the final phase of the Asia Cup as five matches are still to go.
"We don't know about the opponent well though we met each other in the same competition two and half years ago where the match produced a 2-2 draw."
He said Wednesday match would be fighting one.
Arif Khan Joy said, "We are always a bit nervous against the strong teams and were also nervous against Uzbekistan, but we are not at all nervous against Hong Kong on home ground."
