Fire guts 21 shops

          COMILLA, Feb 28: A fire that broke out at a market in Brahmanpara Upazila Sunday night gutted 10 shops. Sources said, the fire originated from electric short circuit in a shop at Shiflai Dhakkin Bazar and burned down the adjoining shops. Local people brought the blaze under control. In Brahmanbaria, fire burnt 11 shops at Champaknagar Bazar in Sadar Upazila Sunday midnight. — UNB
BDR seize smuggled goods
SATKHIRA, Feb 28: The Bangladesh Rifles seized smuggled goods, worth Tk two million from a boat at Char Sreepur in Debhata Upazila early Monday. The seized goods included steel helmet, used by the navy personnel, binocular, pen stand, compass, spare parts and peacock's feather. — UNB
