China's textile industry projects 20pc output growth in 2006
3/13/2006

BEIJING, Mar 12 (CEIS): China's textile industry is projected to register a year-on-year growth of about 20 per cent in gross output value, 15 per cent in textiles and garment export, and 10 per cent in yarn and chemical fiber output in 2006, according to the China Textile Industry Association.
The figures indicate that the growth of the textile industry will largely remain steady this year.
Meanwhile, the association says, acceleration in industrial restructuring and upgrading and independent innovation will be main features for the textile industry in 2006.
Inadequate independent innovation capacity, acute structural contradictions, and irregularities in labour employment, social security, environmental protection, intellectual property protection, taxation system and land policy are now the main problems in the textile industry.
