Tea exports fetch nearly $11m
3/15/2006

HANOI, Mar 14 (VNA): Vietnam has so far this year earned about 11 million USD from tea exports, according to the Vietnam Tea Association (Vitas).
Vietnam exported large amounts of tea to Pakistan, Taiwan, Russia, Germany, China, Indonesia, Poland, the United Arab Emirates, Britain and the Netherlands.
However, Nguyen Van Thu, Vice President of Vitas, said many tea businesses are suffering enormous difficulties due to unplanned development and inadequate material supply.
Export prices this year average 1,026 USD per tonne, down by 77 USD per tonne compared to last year.
