Lilas-Bangla photo exhibition
3/16/2006

Anwar Hossain, a prominent photographer/cinematographer of Bangladesh, is having a major exhibition of his 35 years of photographic devotion at the Alliance Francaise de Dacca from March 16 to 29. The exhibition, titled "LILAS-BANGLA", juxtaposes in dual-images the life and culture of the two diverse countries--Bangladesh and France, evolving around Anwar's children Akash' and 'Meghdoot' in Les Lilas, France and the innocence of the future citizens of Bangladesh.
The opening ceremony will take place today (Thursday) at Alliance Francaise, 26 Mirpur Road at 6 pm. It will be supported by two musical slide shows on Bangladesh and France.
An exhibition on the same topic took place for five weeks and on a much more intense scale at Mairie Des Lilas near Paris in Nov-Dec, 2005.
