Ibsen commemoration '06: Seminar and drama in Khulna University

          On the occasion of death centenary of Henrik Ibsen, a seminar and a drama performance were held in Khulna University very recently.
Professor Md. Yasin Ali, head of agro technology discipline of Khulna University was the chairperson of that occasion. Aud Lise Norheim, the ambassador or Norway, was the chief guest. Ketil Jensehaugen, poet and Ibsen expert, and Kamaluddin Nilu, secretary general of Center for Asian Theatre, was there as special guest.
The main theme of the seminar was "Socio-political aspects of Ibsen Plays". Keynote paper on "The SO Factor: Contrasting Nora with Tests " was presented by Ahmed Ahsanuzzaman, associate professor of English discipline, KU. Another keynote paper on "Hedda Gabber's Failure in Social Adaptation" was presented by Sabiha Huq, assistant professor of English discipline of Khunla University. Gazi Abdulla-hel-Baqui and Fariha Israt Chowdhury took part in the open discursion on the issues.
The seminar was followed by a drama namely 'Ganashatru' based on Ibsen's "Enemy of the People" participated by the students of Khulna University at the auditorium of the university which was adapted and directed by Ahmed Ahsanuzzanan.
