Khaleda urges people to re-elect alliance govt
3/17/2006

BERA (Pabna), Mar 16 (BSS): Prime Minister Khaleda Zia today urged the people to re-elect the BNP-led alliance in the next national polls scheduled for 2007 to maintain the continuity of present development trend for making the country prosperous.
Addressing a huge public meeting at Kazirhat High School field, Khaleda said the BNP had always worked for the welfare of the people and carried out the politics of production and development.
She said that bomb terrorism has started as a part of intrigues against the country at a time when the country is progressing in all spheres.
The Prime Minister regretted that the opposition was unhappy at the arrests of top wanted terrorists when the people of the country and also foreign nations were appreciating the capture of militants.
Khaleda said that main opposition did not arrest the terrorists when they were in power, rather they maintained links with them.
The Prime Minister said that present government has started arresting the terrorists and would inflict tougher punishment to them as per law of the land.
She described those as terrorists who are perpetrating bomb terrorism and killing people in the name of Islam.
Presided over by local BNP leader Anisur Rahman, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Health and Family Welfare Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Post and Telecommunications Minister Aminul Haque, Industries Minister Motiur Rahman Nizami, PM' Political Secretary Harris Chowdhury, Selim Reza Habib MP and Moulana Abdus Sobhan MP.
