A delegation of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) made a courtesy call on the newly-appointed Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Faruk Ahmed Siddiki Thursday at the latter's office in the city. "We met the new chairman just to be introduced with him and also invite him to visit our bourse," a DSE director told the FE after the meeting. Siddiki, a former secretary, joined the SEC as its sixth chairman Wednesday. The SEC Chairman asked the DSE members to help develop the country's stock market through concerted efforts. "In response, we also sought a proactive role from all the market players to develop the stock market," another DSE director said. Led by the DSE President Abdullah Bokhari, the other delegation members were DSE Senior Vice President Ahmad Rashid, Vice President NUM Oliullah, directors Khawja Golum Rasul, Shakil Rizvi, Shahed Abdul Khaleq, Azizul Huq and Chief Executive Officer Salahuddin Ahmed Khan. On the other hand, SEC members Saleh Ahmed Choudhury, Mohammad Ali Khan and Abbasuddin Khan were also present on the occasion.
