Crackdown on illegal passenger vehicles soon
3/18/2006

The traffic police in the city will soon launch a crackdown on some passenger vehicles plying in the city's Gulshan and Baridhara areas without route permits, tax-token, fitness and insurance certificates. A good number of vehicles including Metro Sha-2226, 2271, 2288, 2313, 2187, 2152 and 2287 have no valid documents to ply on the roads but are plying and carrying passengers, traffic police sources said. "Drivers having no experience or little experience are engaged in driving these vehicles causing frequent accidents," said an official of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Traffic). — FE Report
