CHANDPUR, Mar 18: The germs of Wild Polio P-1 were found at South Maddhybagadi village under Sadar Upazila in Chandpur. Rahima Akhtar (9), daughter of Kari Siddiqur Rahman of North Maddhyapara village, was affected by the disease. Sources said such type of polio paralyses patient's hands and legs. A 10-member expert team from WHO, UNICEF, Bangladesh and India led by the Director of Primary Health Care Bangladesh Mahabubur Rahman paid visit to the village and primarily confirmed that the germ of such type of polio reached Bangladesh from Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. -BDNEWS
