Vietnam calls for foreign investment in developing infrastructure
3/19/2006

HANOI, Mar 18 (VNA): Vietnam will call for more foreign investment in developing socio-economic infrastructure, said Vice Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Bich Dat at the Viet Nam Investment Forum, which ended on March 16 in Hanoi.
Vietnam has made progress in building infrastructure, owever, it needs more investment capital for development of transportation, seaports, urban infrastructure, real estate, telecommunications and energy during the international integration process, Dat said.
To facilitate infrastructure development, Vietnam plans to spend a large portion of the State budget on power, seaports and urban area master plans. Additionally, the Ministry of Planning and Investment is also preparing a list of projects calling for foreign investment, including those on urban transportation, highways, seaports and telecommunications.
