Plan to make C'bazar an attractive tourist spot
2/24/2006

COX'S BAZAR, Feb 23 (BSS): State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said Cox's Bazar would be built as one of Asia's most attractive tourist spots.
"The government is pledge-bound to make Cox's Bazar as one of Asia's most attractive tourist spots as this south-eastern district of Bangladesh holds all potentials to that effect," he said while inaugurating the runway expansion and lighting project of the airport here.
The state minister also said that an exclusive tourist zone would be developed for the foreigners on the Sonadia Dwip of Maheskhali Island in the Bay of Bengal.
He asked the officials concerned to send a team within a week to Sonadia Dwip to carry out a feasibility study for building an exclusive tourist spot there.
State Minister for Communication Salah Uddin Ahmed MP also spoke on the occasion presided over by Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority Air Commodore AKM Haroon Chowdhury.
