Prices at both bourses slide

          The price indices on the country's two bourses slid in moderately active market as the banking sector as usual dominated the trade turnover last week.
The General Price Index of the DSE), compiled on the basis of average prices, went down by 2.10 per cent or 33.63 points to close at 1523.19 points from 1555.82 points of the previous week.
The week's total turnover, in terms of value , on the DSE stood at Tk 888.44 million following transactions of 15.05 million shares and debentures that registered 19.37 per cent rise in value from the previous week's Tk 744.30 million following transactions of 13.77 million shares.
The total market capitalisation at DSE, however, decreased by 2.11 per cent to close at Tk 206.32 billion from Tk 210.76 billion.
As on the CSE, the All Share Price Index, however, declined 80.74 points or 2.48 per cent to close at 3176.52 points from 3257.56 points. The trade turnover fell by 13.95 per cent following transactions of 7.49 million shares worth Tk 165.70 million against previous week's 8.23 million shares worth Tk 192.57 million.
