Journalist Gofran laid to rest

          Eminent journalist Abdul Gofran Majumdar was laid to eternal rest Tuesday at his village home under Chhagalnaiya Upazila in Feni district after the second Namaj-e- Janaza, reports BSS.
Abdul Gofran, executive editor of the Daily Independent, died Monday night at the BIRDEM Hospital in the city. He was the executive editor of the Bangladesh Observer and the treasurer of the Jatiya Press Club.
His first Namaj-e-Janaza was held at the Jatiya Press Club at 10.00am. Journalist leaders and his colleagues attended the Janaza.
Meanwhile, President Iajuddin Ahmed Tuesday expressed deep sorrow at the death of Abdul Gofran.
In a condolence message, he said the country has lost a devoted journalist at the death of Abdul Gofran.
The President prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed his sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
