Dollar steady, call rate rises

          The US dollar was steady against the Bangladesh taka (BDT) Tuesday in the local inter-bank foreign exchange market, while the inter-bank call money rate rose slightly in an active market.
In the formal inter-bank market, the exchange rate of the greenback against the taka ranged between Tk 69.14 and Tk 71.65 maintaining the previous day's range. The cash dollar was firm in public deals and was transacted at rates between Tk 68.80 and Tk 72.09.
In the informal market, the dollar was traded between Tk 70.40 and Tk 70.80 against previous day's range between Tk 70.40 and Tk 70.90.
The call rate rose to vary between 12.00 per cent and 28.00 per cent against the previous 12.00 and 24.00 per cent.
