Fire roasts one alive, guts goods worth Tk 5m

          CHITTAGONG, March 7 (BDNEWS): A devastating fire that broke out in a market burnt one teenager alive and gutted properties worth about Tk five million in Keranihat under Satkania Upazila of the district in the small hours of Tuesday.
Sahidul Islam (13), who was in deep sleep in one of the shops during the flame, was trapped and burnt alive, fire service and market sources said.
The dead was the son of late Lal Mia under village Sodaha of East Billapara in Satkania Upazila.
The fire originating from an electric short circuit at 12: 25 am Tuesday in Keranihat quickly engulfed the surrounding areas resulting in burning of eight different shops.
