Tea sale marks good demand with low price
FE Report
6/1/2006

Market opened to a fairly good demand but prices were generally lower. However, with the progress in sale, demand slackened due to decline in rates with some withdrawals. Blenders and packeteers were again active with a little more interest from the loose tea buyers. Export buyers were again absent. Good liquoring Dusts sold at around last levels.
CTC LEAF: 14,510 bags, 182 c/s, and (3 chests, 1,420 bags of old season) on offer met with a fairly good demand but at lower rates.
BROKENS: Good liquoring brokens had a good market but prices eased by Tk.4.00 to Tk.7.00 and these sold between Tk.106 and Tk.112. The remainder had also a good market and these sold between Tk.98 and Tk.105.
FANNINGS: Good liquoring clean fannings met with a good demand but at lower rates, easing by Tk.4.00 and Tk.7.00 and these realised prices between Tk.107 and Tk.113. Medium and plainer types also eased but by a lesser margin and these sold between Tk.102 and Tk.105.
CTC DUST: 2,121 bags, 35 c/s, and (181bags, 17 c/s of old season) on offer met with a fairly good demand but at easier rates. Good liquoring RDs/Ds were firm to occasionally dearer following competition. Others eased by upto Tk.5.00 and more in line with quality. CDs met with a restricted demand and had a much lower market, easing by upto Tk.20 and more particularly for the expensive lines. Loose tea buyers bought more this week with good support from blenders.
