Prices close lower

          The price indices on the Chit-tagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed lower Thursday, as the losers outnumbered the gainers.
The trade turnover, in terms of both volume and value, also moved down on the day.
The CSE All Share Price Index decreased by 0.54 per cent to close at 3378.94 points from 3397.28 points of Thursday, the previous trading day.
The CSE-30 Index declined by 0.44 per cent to close at 3218.55 points from 3232.86 points.
A total of 1.22 million shares and debentures worth Tk 65.54 million changed hands on the day against the previous day's 1.78 million shares and debentures valued at Tk 87.98 million of the previous day.
The total market capitalisation stood at Tk 204.29 billion from Tk 205.12 billion.
The total number of contracts decreased to 3,069 from 4,018 of previous trading day.
A total of 78 issues were traded on the day. Of them, 22 gained, 48 declined and eight remained unchanged.
Sinobangla was the top gaining issue on the day. Its price rose by 57.78 per cent to close at Tk 7.10 from Tk 4.50. Its 4,000 shares valued at Tk 27,250.00 were traded on the day.
Hakkani Pulp was the top losing issue on the day. Its price fell by 32.69 per cent to end at Tk 3.50 from Tk 5.20. Some 1,000 of its shares worth Tk 3,500.00 changed hands on the day.
NCCB was a major trade turnover leader, in terms of value, on the day. Its 8,423 shares valued at Tk 4.55 million were traded. The price of the issue went down by 2.35 per cent to close at Tk 540.00 from Tk 553.00.
Rupali Bank was a significant performer on the day. Its 5,510 shares valued at Tk 3.24 million changed hands. The price of the issue gained by 0.17 per cent to close at Tk 586.75 from Tk 585.75.
