Prices on both bourses plummet

          The price indices on the country's two stock exchanges plummeted Sunday, as the losers overwhelmed the gainers in moderate trading.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) All Share Price Index closed at 1185.17 points, registering 17.16 points or 1.43 per cent fall from 1202.33 points of Thursday, the previous trading day.
The DSE General Index dropped by 21.68 points or 1.38 per cent to close at 1549.18 points from 1570.87.
The DSE-20 Index went down by 21.77 points or 1.46 per cent to close at 1463.83 points from 1485.60.
About 1.65 million shares and debentures, worth Tk 177.19 million, changed hands on the day, against 1.92 million shares and debentures, valued at Tk 145.99 million of the previous trading day.
A total of 173 issues were traded on the day, including 26 gainers, 132 losers and 15 remaining unchanged, as estimated on the basis of closing prices.
The total market capitalisation stood at Tk 224.81 billion from 227.75 billion.
The CSE All Share Price Index dropped by 1.30 per cent to finish at 3114.24 points from 3155.29 points of the previous trading day.
The CSE-30 Index moved down by 1.62 per cent to close at 2914.27 points from 2962.30 points.
A total of 0.68 million shares and debentures, worth Tk 32.81 million, changed hands on the day, against the previous day's 0.71 million shares and debentures, valued at Tk 26.46 million.
A total of 89 issues were traded on the day. Of them, 11 gained, 73 lost grounds and five remained unchanged.
