New WASA board with one-third MPs recommended

          The 32nd meeting on the 'Public Establishment Committee' Wednesday recommended formation of a new board of Dhaka WASA with one-third members of parliament (MPs) dissolving the present one, reports BSS.
The meeting was held at the Sangsad Bhaban with committee chairman Abdul Alim in the chair, an official handout said.
It also discussed organogram, income and expenditure of the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA). The meeting was also informed that the outstanding bills of the WASA stood at more than Tk 1783.6 million up to June 30, 2005 from 2000.
Committee members Salah Uddin Ahmed, Mohammad Rustom Ali Farazi, Mohammad Farooq Khan and Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher attended the meeting.
Secretary of Local Government Division AHM Abul Kashem and high officials concerned were present on the occasion.
