India, Pakistan to help flood victims

          Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expressed deep shock at loss of lives and extensive damage caused by the devastating flood across the country. In a message to Prime Minister Khaleda Zia Thursday, the Indian prime minister said, "As neighbours and friends, the people of India stand ready to assist you in this hour of need," Singh also said in his message. Meanwhile, Pakistan President Parvez Musharraf telephoned Prime Minister Khaleda Zia Thursday and inquired about the flood situation of the country. The Pakistan president also offered assistance for the flood-affected people of the country. — BSS
