Share prices rise

          The price indices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rose Thursday, as the gaining issues outnumbered the losing ones.
The trade turnover, in terms of both volume and value, also increased on the day.
The DSE General Index gained by 10.95 points or 0.86 per cent to close at 1276.02 points from 1265.08 points of the previous trading day.
The DSE-20 Index went up by 8.62 points or 0.55 per cent to end at 1576.40 points from 1567.78 points.
About 1.80 million shares and debentures worth Tk 113.66 million changed hands on the day against 1.34 million shares and deben-tures worth Tk 82.08 million of the previous trading day.
A number of 180 issues were traded on the day including 118 gainers, 35 losers and 27 remaining un-changed on the day.
The total market capitalisation increased to Tk 132.75 billion from Tk 131.64 billion of the previous trading day.
First Lease International was the top trade turn-over leader, in terms of value, on the day. Its 50,750 shares valued at Tk 10.70 million changed hands. The price of the issue increased by 1.21 per cent to end at Tk 187.00.
Beximco Pharma was a major trade turnover leader, in terms of value, and a gainer on the day. Its 30,800 shares worth Tk 7.01 million were traded. The price of the issue rose by 2.48 per cent to close at Tk 53.60 on the day.
Beximco Denims was the top gaining issue on the day as its price moved up by 24.15 per cent to end at Tk 64.25. Its 9,400 shares valued at Tk 589,600.00 changed hands.
Fine Foods was the top losing issue on the day as its price decreased by 8.95 per cent to close at Tk 6.10. Its 97,000 shares worth Tk 617,400.00 changed hands.
GlaxoSmith was a major gainer on the day with its 150 shares valued at Tk 32,200.00 being transacted. The price of the issue increased by 10.61 per cent to end at Tk 214.60 on the day.
Padma Textiles was a major trade turnover leader, in terms of both volume and value, on the day as its 247,600 shares worth Tk 5.09 million changed hands. The price of the issue gained by 2.51 per cent to close at Tk 20.40 on the day.
Square Textiles was a major perfoming issue on the day. Its price increased by 0.50 per cent to end at Tk 59.80. Its 45,350 shares valued at Tk 8.76 million changed hands.
