          The price indices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained Saturday, as the gaining issues outnumbered the losing ones.
The trade turnover, in terms of volume, fell but in terms of value, it increased on the day.
The DSE General Index rose by 13.12 points or 1.03 per cent to close at 1289.14 points from 1276.02 points of the previous trading day.
The DSE-20 Index went up by 20.31 points or 1.29 per cent to end at 1598.80 points from 1576.40 points.
About 1.02 million shares and debentures worth Tk 120.69 million changed hands on the day against 1.80 million shares and deben-tures worth Tk 113.66 million of the previous trading day.
A number of 181 issues were traded on the day including 109 gainers, 46 losers and 26 remaining un-changed on the day.
The total market capitalisation increased to Tk 134.16 billion from Tk 132.75 billion of the previous trading day.
Square Pharma was the top trade turn-over leader, in terms of value, on the day. Its 3074 shares valued at Tk 10.78 million changed hands. The price of the issue increased by 3.21 per cent to end at Tk 3546.75.
Square Textiles was a major trade turnover leader, in terms of value, and a gainer on the day. Its 14,200 shares worth Tk 5.28 million were traded. The price of the issue rose by 1.02 per cent to close at Tk 370.75 on the day.
Beximco Limited was the top gaining issue on the day as its price moved up by 13.80 per cent to end at Tk 27.20. Its 84,200 shares valued at Tk 2.26 million changed hands.
Monno Stafler was the top losing issue on the day as its price decreased by 10.04 per cent to close at Tk 494.75. Its 40 shares worth Tk 19,800.00 changed hands.
BSC was a major gainer on the day with its 60 shares valued at Tk 6,200.00 being transacted. The price of the issue increased by 12.22 per cent to end at Tk 103.25 on the day.
Padma Textiles was a major trade turnover leader, in terms of both volume and value, on the day as its 204,800 shares worth Tk 4.26 million changed hands. The price of the issue gained by 1.47 per cent to close at Tk 20.70 on the day.
Islami Bank was a major perfoming issue on the day. Its price increased by 1.27 per cent to end at Tk 3798.75. Its 1851 shares valued at Tk 7.01 million changed hands.
