Bangladesh U-17 team leaves for Vietnam today

          A 25-member Bangladesh Under-17 Football team led by Tauhidul Alam Sabuj, leaves here for Vietnam early Thursday to take part in the four-nation AFF Under-17 Youth Football Championship to be held there August 12-16, reports UNB.
The four participating teams in the meet are Bangladesh, Myanmar, Laos and hosts Vietnam.
Addressing a press conference at the BFF conference room in the afternoon, team coach Mahbub Hossain Roxy said: "We are taking the ensuing championship (in Vietnam) as a preparation for the final round of the AFC U-17 Championship."
The final round of the AFC U-17 Championship will be held in September in Singapore.
Roxy said: "We will be able to understand our team condition and also our faults after playing the matches in the Vietnam meet."
Replying to a question, he said Bangladesh U-17 team's midfield comprised some good players, strong enough to cope with any opposition.
BFF president SA Sultan MP, team manager Nazir Ahmed and team leader Azfar-uz-Zaman Sohrab were present at the press conference.
Meanwhile, in the final round of the AFC U-17 Championship, Bangladesh have been placed in group D along with China, Vietnam and Syria.
Bangladesh will play their first match against Vietnam on Sept. 4 and the 2nd against Syria on Sept. 6 both, at the Bishan Stadium, and the 3rd and last match against China on Sept. 8 at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore.
Bangladesh team: Maksudur Rahman, Mohammad Nehal, Pintu Kumar Das, Russell Alam, Mostafizur Rahman, Mofizur Rahman, Robin Hasan, Sheikh Alamgir Kabir, Mejbabul Haq, Emon Mahmud, Tauhidul Alam, ABM Sabbir Mahmud, Rashedul Islam, Shahriar Kabir, Samsuzzaman Sohel, Shahedul Alam, Rashed Hossain, Mohammad Rubel, Saddam Hossain and Biplob Hossain.
Officials - Azfar-uz-Zaman Sohrab (team leader), Nazir Ahmed (manager), Mahbub Hossain (trainer), Shamsuzzaman Yusuf (assistant coach) and Ali Imran (team doctor).
