CSE to introduce derivatives as equity item
FE Report
8/13/2006

In a bid to popularise trading through derivatives among the brokers of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the CSE arranged a seminar for its brokers in the port city Wednesday, said a press release.
The CSE organised same kind of seminars on May 15 for its Chittagong-based members, on May 24 for the Dhaka-based members and on June 22 for the Sylhet-based members.
While inaugurating the seminar, Chief Executive Officer of the CSE AB Siddique said the capital market of the country will have a new dimension in future when 'derivatives' would be added to the existing equity products.
He said 'derivatives' are widely used in transaction in the exchanges of developed countries.
He said it is the first step to make the CSE members aware and very soon the system will be introduced in the trading system.
He said the derivative products, which do not exist at all in our stock markets, are the most popular investment instruments for the corporate investors as well as for individuals in the developed countries.

The CSE-held seminar in progress.
