Sugar mills' workers demand removal of salary discriminations
8/17/2006

The Bangladesh Sugar Mills Workers-Employees Federation Wednesday announced month-long programmes to push for implementation of their seven-point demand including elimination of salary discriminations. The programmes include erecting barricades on roads and the railways on September 16. Leaders of the federation announced the programmes at a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in the city. Referring to the discriminations between the Pay Commission and the National Salary Scale, they said workers have lost interest in work as salaries are being disbursed under two scales. — BDNEWS
