Immediate execution of JMB kingpins demanded
8/18/2006

Various political parties Thursday demanded immediate execution of the JMB kingpins and trial of the others behind the August 17 countrywide bombing last year, report agencies.
Addressing a rally in the city's Purana Paltan, leaders of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) alleged the militants of banned Jama'tul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) are trying to regroup again to commit fresh crimes as the local and foreign masterminds of the bombings are not being arrested.
They said the people will not pardon any more failure of the alliance government.
CPB leaders Sahidullah Chowdhury, Morshed Ali, Ruhin Hossain Prince and Ahsan Habib Lablu spoke at the rally presided over by CPB General Secretary Mujahidul Islam Selim.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) convenor Khalequzzaman has demanded immediate execution of JMB kingpins Shaekh Abdur Rahman and Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai and also to bring to book others responsible for the countrywide serial bombings.
He called upon all democratic forces to be united to force the government to take effective steps to curb militancy in the country.
Bangladesh Samajtantrick Dal (BSD) demanded execution of the death sentences of Jama'tul Mujahidin Bangladesh (JMB) kingpin Shaekh Abdur Rahman and his operational commander Bangla Bhai. It also demanded exemplary punishment of those involved in the serial bomb blasts on August 17 across the country, reports BDNEWS.
A party press release issued here said, though the BNP-Jamaat alliance government arrested Shaekh Abdur Rahman and Bangla Bhai, who were responsible for serial bomb attacks across the country, in the face of the public pressure, the godfathers are still in hiding.
