BTTB experimentally using information super highway

          Installation works of optical links from Cox's Bazaar to the port city of Chittagong are progressing fast to connect the country with the International Information Supper Highway. Bangladesh Telephone and Telegraph Board (BTTB) is already using the super highway on an experimental basis. Prime Minister Khaleda Zia is expected to inaugurate the commissioning of submarine cables project within two months. The government sanctioned Tk 9.21 billion for the installation of submarine cables. ECNEC approved the project August 29, 2000.
