Two 'militants' killed in Kashmir

          JAMMU, India, Aug 24 (AFP): Indian security forces Thursday shot dead two rebels including a Hindu convert to Islam, both members of a prominent militant group active in insurgency- wracked Indian Kashmir, police said.
The two were killed in a combined operation by the Indian army and the police following a tip-off in Doda district, 180 kilometres (112 miles) northeast of Kashmir's winter capital Jammu, Doda police chief Manohar Singh told AFP.
The Hindu rebel was identified as Kuldip Kumar Gupta who took on the name of Kamran after conversion and was wounded in an earlier encounter with police, he said.
Police received information that he was getting medical attention at a house, Singh said.
