1/5/2006

Bangladesh have been placed in the Group-F of the qualifying round of the AFC Asian Cup 2007 along with Hong Kong, Qatar and last version quarter-finalist Uzbekistan, reports BDNEWS.
The qualifying round draw for the AFC Asian Cup 2007 was held Wednesday at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, putting six teams -- Japan, Iran, Jordan, Bahrain, China and Uzbekistan -- on top in each group.
Top twenty-four nations of Asia, split into six groups, will compete in the qualifying round, beginning on home and away basis from February 22 to November 15.
And, top two teams from each group will join the four co-hosts -- Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia -- at the finals, which kick off on July 9, 2007, of the 14th edition of Asian Cup. The Asian Cup was begun from 1956.
