ICICI Bank opens representative office in city Monday

          The ICICI Bank Limited is going to launch its business in Bangladesh through establishment of its representative office in Dhaka Monday, sources concerned said. The ICICI Bank is one of the largest banks of India. When contacted, a senior official of Bangladesh Bank, the central bank here, told the FE Thursday night that there was no legal bar to doing business in the country through setting up the representative office of the Indian bank. The ICICI Bank is India's second largest bank with total assets of about Rs 1252.29 billion (125,229 crore) and a network of over 450 branches and offices and about 1790 ATMs (automated teller machines). The bank offers a wide range of banking products and financial services to corporate and retail customers through a variety of delivery channels and through its specialised subsidiaries and affiliates in the areas of investment banking, life and non-life insurance, venture capital and asset management. — FE Report
