8/6/2004

Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan said Thursday Bangladesh and CIRDAP could work together by sharing experiences in poverty alleviation, reports UNB.
Khan made the remarks when new director general of Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) Durga P. Paudyal paid a courtesy call on him at the Foreign Ministry in city.
The Foreign Minister said Bangladesh has experience and expertise in poverty alleviation and both Dhaka, and CIRDAP can work together more closely by sharing experiences in this sector.
He called for more dynamism of CIRDAP activities to improve integrated rural development in the region.
Paudyal expressed gratitude to the Foreign Minister for his assurance of cooperation, saying that it needs political support to achieve specific objectives for which CIRDAP was established.
