          The price indices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) went down Thursday, as the losing issues outnumbered the gaining ones.
The trade turnover, in terms of both volume and value, decreased on the day.
The DSE General Index fell by 8.78 points or 0.65 per cent to close at 1350.22 points from 1359.04 points of the previous trading day.
The DSE-20 Index declined by 12.81 points or 0.77 per cent to end at 1640.61 points from 1658.42 points.
About 2.91 million shares and debentures worth Tk 200.18 mil-lion changed hands on the day against 3.21 million shares and deben-tures worth Tk 205.12 mil-lion of the previous trading day.
A number of 197 issues were traded on the day including 64 gainers, 107 losers and 26 remain-ing un-changed on the day.
The total market capitalisation increased to Tk 140.23 billion from Tk 141.02 billion of the previous trading day.
Square Textiles was the top trade turn-over leader, in terms of both volume and value, on the day. Its 381,950 shares valued at Tk 24.22 million changed hands. The price of the issue increased by 3.08 per cent to end at Tk 63.50.
Southeast Bank was a major trade turnover leader, in terms of value, on the day. Its 28,000 shares worth Tk 10.83 million were traded. The price of the issue slipped by 0.51 per cent to close at Tk 384.75 on the day.
Therapeutics was the top gain-ing issue on the day as its price moved up by 33.88 per cent to end at Tk 60.25. Its 3900 shares valued at Tk 202,800.00 changed hands.
Glaxo was the top losing issue on the day as its price decreased by 9.46 per cent to close at Tk 220.00. Its 150 shares worth Tk 33,000.00 changed hands.
Sandhani Insurance was a major gainer on the day with its 600 shares valued at Tk 464,300.00 being transacted. The price of the issue increased by 12.62 per cent to end at Tk 773.75 on the day.
Beximco Pharma was a major trade turnover leader, in terms of volume, on the day as its 275,400 shares worth Tk 9.89 million changed hands. The price of the issue declined by 2.31 per cent to close at Tk 54.80 on the day.
United Leasing was a major perfoming issue on the day. Its price increased by 1.38 per cent to end at Tk 1281.25. Its 18,560 shares valued at Tk 16.16 million changed hands.
