BRDB to disburse Tk 180m loans in Brahmanbaria

          BRAHMANBARIA, Jan 15: The Bangladesh Rural Development Board ( BRDB) has set a target to disburse Tk 180 million (18 crore) loans among the farmers through its eight upazila central associations (UCAs) in the district during the fiscal year of 2005-2006.
The BRDB has already disbursed Tk 47.5 million.
The loans are given for poverty alleviation so that farmers could implement various projects like cattle raising, crop cultivation etc and invest in pisciculture, poultry farms as well as farm machinery purchase and small enterprises, sources said.
BRDB has also recovered Tk 10.7 million in outstanding loans, the sources added.
