Morshed attends luncheon meet hosted by US congressmen
9/30/2005

Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan attended a luncheon meeting at the Capitol Hill in Washington, jointly hosted by congressmen Joseph Crowley, co-chairman of the Bangladesh Caucus of US Congress and Eliot Engel, an influential Democrat from New York, reports UNB.
During the meeting held Tuesday, the foreign minister thanked both congressmen for their continued support for Bangladesh and for the Bangladeshi-American community in New York.
Morshed noted with appreciation that the Trade Act 2005, proposing duty-free access for Bangladeshi goods to the USA, was gaining increasing support from the key US senators and members of the House.
Both Crowley and Engel assured the minister that they would intensify their effort to generate more support for the bill in the House so that it may be enacted as law within the current year.
The foreign minister invited both of them to visit Bangladesh.
