NILPHAMARI, Dec 26 (UNB): A little boy abducted from Pallabi thana area in the city by some juvenile terrorists was rescued from Nilphamari district Sunday night.
Sources said three kidnappers picked up Imtiaz Foysal Siam (7), a student of Polashnagar Model School in Pallabi area in the city, from in front of his house Saturday alluring him with a chocolate.
They took him to Syedpur upazila under Nilphamari district by a microbus and demanded Tk 2.0 million from his family as ransom over mobile phone. They also threatened to kill Siam and cut him into pieces if their demand was not met. Siam's father, Hashem Ali Talukder, lives in Japan.
Siam's family filed a GD in this connection. Police suspected Rubel and arrested his parents who rented their house a year ago.
The kidnappers also phoned Sunday and threatened to kill Siam as police arrested Ruble's parents. "Bring the money to Gazipur Monday if you want to see Siam alive," the racketeers were quoted as telling the grief-stricken mother.
Thereafter, Nilphamari police started raiding Dhaka-bound buses from Syedpur town and from one bus they rescued Siam and arrested the three kidnappers.
The suspects are Rubel Islam Badol (20) and his two associates-Razu (18) and Masum (18).
Siam and the kidnappers were handed over to a Pallabi Thana police team Monday. The Pallabi station said they had sent a team for bringing the boy back home.
