Tense situation at Mirpur after trader succumbs to injuries

Mirpur Mukta Bangla Market General Secretary Aftabuddin Hossain, who was shot and wounded by unidentified gunmen in front of his house Sunday, succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical Collage Hospital (DMCH) Wednesday evening, reports UNB.
The news of his death sparked protests in Mirpur area where traders resorted to street agitation and road blockade.
A tense situation was prevailing in Mirpur after Aftab's death in the hospital.
Additional police force, including RAB and Detective Branch police, were deployed to avert any untoward incident in the area.
Three miscreants riding two motorcycles shot at Aftab Sunday morning when he came out of his home.
Aftab suffered wounds in his head was rushed to DMCH in critical condition. He breathed his last at 6:30 pm Wednesday at the hospital after fighting for life for four days.
