Plan to build Gulistan-Jatrabari flyover without removing settlements

The government decided to construct the proposed Gulistan-Jatrabari flyover without removing the existing settlements in the area.
The decision was taken at a meeting at the ministry's conference room Thursday on the construction of the Gulistan-Jatrabari flyover with Minister for Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan in the chair, reports BDNEWS.
Minister for Post and Telecommunications Aminul Haque, State Minister for Power Iqbal Hasan Mahmud, Energy Adviser Mahmudur Rahman, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Vice Chancellor Mohammad Alee Mortuza and officials of the concerned ministries, Dhaka City Corporation (DCC), Water and Sewerage Authorities (WASA), Dhaka Electricity Supply Authorities (DESA) were present in the meeting.
In the meeting, the concerned officials have been asked to prepare the drawings of the settlements of the area and consult with the engineers and contractors in this connection within a week.
