PM likely to visit Pakistan in Feb, India in March

1/23/2006

Prime Minister Khaleda Zia would go to Pakistan on a 3-day official visit on February 12 at the invitation of Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, reports UNB.
Talking to journalists at his office Sunday, Foreign Minister Morshed Khan said after the Islamabad trip the Prime Minister is expected to visit India in the third week of March at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Dhaka proposed two sets of dates to India, and New Delhi conveyed that the third week would be convenient for them to welcome the Bangladesh Prime Minister.
Before Khaleda's tour, US President George W Bush is expected to visit India sometime in the first week of March.
Asked about the agenda of Khaleda-Shaukat talks in Islamabad, Khan said the entire range of bilateral, regional and international issues would come up.
She would also call on Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf during her planned tour.
It will be Khaleda's first trip to two important member-countries of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) after assuming chair of the forum at Dhaka summit last November.
