Dhaka, Moscow to enhance high level contacts

Bangladesh and Russia have agreed to work for regular contacts at the political level with a visit by Bangladesh Foreign Minister to the Russian Federation this year and signing of some bilateral agreements, reports BDNEWS.
Dhaka and Moscow also agreed that a delegation led by the Executive Chairman of Board of Investment might visit Russian Federation in the second half of this year.
These were agreed at the fifth annual bilateral consultation meeting between the Foreign Secretaries of Bangladesh and the Russian Federation held in Moscow Friday. Foreign Secretary Hemayetuddin led the country delegation while Alexeyev Alexander Yurievich Deputy Foreign Minister led the Russian side.
The Bangladesh Foreign Secretary informed the Russian side that people of Bangladesh remember with gratitude the invaluable support of the then Soviet Union to the liberation war of Bangladesh and in the reconstruction of the war-ravaged country.
