UCBL turns high-tech for greater consumer service

Dynamic managerial skills in banking operation with the application of information technology can revamp the activities of the sector to cope with customer demand in line with the global changes.
Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank Muhammad A (Rumee) Ali said this while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural session of a workshop on 'Leadership Skills and Managing Changes', said a press release.
Managing Director of UCBL Hamidul Huq presided over the session and underlined a new policy and action plan as his bank was switching over to modern technology in operational activities.
Top executives of different banks and experts in the financial sector presented deliberations highlighting important aspects of professional development. The topics include: (1) Leadership Management in Consumer Banking, (2) Leadership Management in Corporate Banking, (3) Managing Changes for Effective Leadership, (4) Leadership Skill and Human Resources Management and (5) IT as a decision-making tool.
United Commercial Bank Ltd (UCBL) organised the workshop Thursday at its training institute in the city. Senior executives of its head office and branch managers attended the workshop.
Managing Director of Eastern Bank Ltd K Mahmood Sattar, Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of BRAC Bank Limited Imran Rahman and DMD of IPDC Majedur Rahman also spoke, among others, at the workshop.
DMD of UCBL Niaz Habib delivered the address of welcome. Senior Vice President and Secretary of Board MM Rafiqur Rahman offered vote of thanks.
