Jalalabad Gas Transmission earns Tk l32.8m pretax profit

The 19th annual general meeting (AGM) for the financial year 2004-2005 of Jalalabad Gas Transmission and Distribution System Limited, Sylhet was held Monday, said a press release.
The shareholders and the directors present in the meeting were informed that the company had earned a pretax profit of Tk l32.8 million by selling 691.862 MMCM of gas to 90,506 customers of different categories.

The amount of profit is 11.41 per cent higher than that of the preceding year. It was also stated in the meeting that the company had paid Tk 220.7 million to the public exchequer as DSL, dividend, income tax and import duty as against Tk 199.7 million of the preceding year.
The meeting was further informed that new connections were given to three industries, three tea gardens, 76 commercial establishments, two captive power stations, four CNG stations and 7,292 domestic customers during the year under review.
