Hartal observed in dists

The nationwide dawn-to-dusk hartal called by the 14-party opposition was observed elsewhere in the country Wednesday, reports UNB.
In Munshiganj, most of the business houses remained closed during the hartal hours. The 14-party combine activists brought out several processions in the district town ignoring the police barricade.
Reports of clashes were also received from Narayanganj and Bandarban where the police charged batons to disperse the opposition pickets, leaving at least 20 injured.
Another report adds from Khulna: The hartal was observed here peacefully without any untoward incident.
Long route transports stayed off the roads while shops, business establishments, banks and educational institutions were closed during the hartal hours. But, train and launch movement was normal.
Production in all jute mills and other heavy industrial units in Daulatpur, Khalishpur and Atba industrial areas remained normal.
The 14-party opposition brought out a number of processions in Daulatpur, Khalishpur, Sonadanga, Gallamari and Shiromani areas in support of the hartal.
