Demo demands putting notorious criminal thru’ 'crossfire'

MEHERPUR, Feb 15 (UNB): An extraordinary procession of several hundred people including women of Gangni Upazila Wednesday chanted slogans demanding that the notorious terror Kamal be sent to the 'crossfire.'
The demonstrators in a memorandum submitted to the DC, SP, RAB and Masud Aroon MP of BNP said that Kamal would again come out of prison through the loopholes of prosecution and law if brought to the trial.
Kamal (28) was arrested on Feb 13 from his home at Bhorat in Gangni Upazila.
Local UP members led the procession. More than a dozen demonstrators said that Kamal Bahini had abducted them and they secured release on payment of ransom ranging up to Tk 0.15 million each.
