Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh is not an Islamic party: Hizb-ut-Tahrir

3/29/2006

Hizb-ut-Tahrir Bangladesh (HTB) does not consider Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh as an Islamic party for what it said their (Jamaat) collaborative role in the 'foul' politics of BNP, Awami League and Jatiya Party, reports BDNEWS.
"Since independence, the Jamaat has been assisting the capitalist parities. They (Jamaat) have no individual stand. They are the tabedar (servant) of imperialists," Mohiuddin Ahmed, Chief Coordinator of HTB, in an exclusive interview told the news agency Monday at his party office.
He also discussed the role of HTB in the next Jatiya Sangsad election, their suspected relation with the international militant groups, and dream of establishing the 'Khilafat-based society' in the country instead of existing democracy.
Narrating the relation with the Islamic parties in the country, Mohiuddin said they have already held meetings with the small Islamic parties, including the Khilafat Majlish, Islami Constitutional Movement (ICM), Jamiyatul Olama and Khilafat Andolan.
