Ban on gathering around secretariat

Ahead of opposition's sit-in in front of the Secretariat Thursday, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) imposed a ban on any kind of gatherings, processions, demonstration, siege and sit-in around the Secretariat from Wednesday midnight, reports BDNEWS.
DMP Commissioner SM Mizanur Rahman imposed the 24-hour ban under Section 28 and 29 of the DMP Ordinance, said a release Tuesday evening.
The ban will also cover carrying all kinds of arms and ammunition, explosives and other dangerous and harmful objects.
The ban will be imposed from Pir Yemeni Market to Noor Hossain Square (Zero Point), from Noor Hossain Square to GPO Link Road (south gate of Baitul Mokarram), from south point of GPO Link Road to House Building crossing, from House Building crossing to Topkhana Road (UBL), from Topkhana Road to Kasturi Hotel at Bijoynagar, from Topkhana crossing to Matsya Bhaban crossing through fountain in front of the Foreign Office, from south point of GPO Link Road to western side of Abdul Ghani Road and entire Osmany Udyan through Zero Point, from Karmajibi Hospital to western side of Abdul Ghani Road, from Old High Court crossing to Doyel Square, from southern point of Segunbagicha Old Diabetic Association to Carpet Crossing on the north.
