Beximco honours cricketers

Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd (BPL), one of the biggest pharmaceuticals in Bangladesh, honoured Bangladesh Cricketers for the glorious feat against Australia in England, reports BDNEWS.
Bangladesh outplayed the best cricket giants by five wickets in the NatWest Series in Cardiff, England on June 18.
Deputy Chairman of Beximco Group Salman F Rahman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Beximco Pharmaceuticals Nazmul Hasan and coach of Bangladesh national cricket team Dav Whatmore were present on the occasion at the BPL office.
Salman F Rahman, also the chairman of the country's leading Abahani Ltd, said, "Now a days, the country is passing a critical time, only sports like cricket can unite the country in the same line. So we have to concentrate more on sports."
He said about Beximco's contribution to the sports sector of the country, "The Beximco Group helped cricket, football, chess and badminton in the past."
A total of 24 players have been working in the Beximco group as the highest in the country.
Mohammad Ashraful who is a employee of Beximco said, "In the last three years Beximco couldn't play well. But in this year we are playing for the championship."
Beximco is one of the strongest team of the ongoing grameenPhone corporate cricket league.
National coach Dav Whatmore said, "We are remaining in the bottom of the ranking in the cricket world. So we have to pull up Bangladesh from there and we are working for that. But In the last series in Sri Lanka, we showed the disappointing performance."
Beximco handed over a total of Tk. 10,25,000 to 15 players of the squad, coach, manager, physiotherapist, trainer and computer analyst.
All the players, coach and manager received Tk. 50,000 each while the physiotherapist, trainer and computer analyst received Tk. 25,000 each.
Mohammad Ashraful who played a massive innings of 100 runs off 101 balls with 11 boundaries in the match received another Tk. 100,000 for the wonderful innings.
Javed Omar Belim, Tushar Imran, Mohammad Ashraful, Mohammad Rafique, Khaled Mashud, Tapash Baisya, Khaled Mahmud, Rajin Saleh, Manjarul Islam Rana, Shahriar Nafees Ahmed, trainer of the national team Paul Close and Computer Analyst Nasir Ahmed Nasu were present on the occasion.
Nafis Iqbal, Habibul Bashar, Aftab Ahmed, Mashrafee Bin Mortaza, Nazmul Hossain, manager of the national team Lt Col (Retd.) Abdul Latif and physiotherapist of the national team Stuart Carpinen were not present on the occasion.
